John F. Jamrog, age 88, passed away on Nov. 11, 2015 at Mercy Medical Center. He was born on June 9, 1927 in Chicopee and has been a lifelong resident. He was a son of the late John A. and Bertha (Salamon) Jamrog. He was a communicant of St Stanislaus Basilica. He was a veteran of the United States Navy. Following his service he worked for the federal government as an engineer for many years before he retired. He leaves his loving wife of 65 years, Lorraine (Lesieur) Jamrog of Chicopee; 1 son Paul Jamrog and his wife Tina of Barrington, RI; 2 daughters, JoAnn Barrett and her husband Robert of South Hadley, Tina Hogan and her husband Kevin Beaulieu of Sturbridge, and 1 daughter in law Marion Jamrog of Berlin, CT; 1 brother Theodore Jamrog and his partner Sue Maheux of FL; 1 sister Theodora Roy of Holyoke; 6 grandchildren, Chris Hogan, John Barrett and his wife Karli, Emilie Barrett, Gregory Jamrog, Haley Jamrog and Justine Jamrog. He also leaves his 3 great grandchildren, Brandon, Elizabeth and Miles. John is predeceased by his son Mark Jamrog, his brother Robert Jamrog and by his grandchildren Tara Hogan, Leah St. Jean and Evan St Jean. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, Nov. 15, 2015 from 2:00-5:00 p.m. at the Grise Funeral Home, 280 Springfield St, Chicopee. A funeral service will be held on Monday, Nov. 16, 2015 at 10:00a.m. from the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Liturgy in St Stanislaus Church at 11:00 a.m. Burial to follow in St Stanislaus Cemetery.
