Mr. James Edward Evans, 61, beloved husband of Honey Lockwood Evans, entered into rest on Thursday, November 12, 2015, at his residence after a long illness.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Sunday, November 15, 2015 at Platt’s
Belair Road Chapel with Pastor Tom Lunger officiating. Burial will follow at Bellevue Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Evans was born in Japan. He was a 1972 graduate of the Academy of Richmond County, and worked in the environmental safety field. A man of strong faith, he spent many hours relaxing on his back porch reading and studying his Bible. He enjoyed playing the guitar, spending time with his son and daughter, and the love of his wife of 24 years. He was very proud of the adults his children had grown up to be.
In addition to his wife, Honey, he is survived by a son; Daniel James Evans (Laura), a daughter: Whitney Virginia Evans, his brothers; George Evans (Dawn), Fred Evans (Rhonda), and Tommy Miller (Roselyn), as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his beloved pets, Champ and Kitty.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home at 12:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the Board of Trustees of the Academy of Richmond County.
