Jean E. (Chadwick) Walters, 64, of Westport, passed away on Wednesday, November 11, 2015 at Charlton Memorial Hospital with her family by her side. She was the wife of James F. Brousseau.
Born in Fall River, she was the daughter of the late Francis T. and Winifred (Perry) Chadwick. She was raised in Swansea and had resided in Westport for over 40 years. Prior to her retirement in 2005, she worked as a teacher for the New Bedford and Westport School Departments and also as a free private tutor. She was passionate about her profession and very dedicated to her students. Mrs. Walters was a member of the Westport Point United Methodist Church, Westport Point, enjoyed reading, writing poetry and spending days at the beach.
Survivors along with her husband include her step-mother: Barbara A. Chadwick of Westport, who raised her from childhood; her son: Alan T. Walters and his fiancée Wendy Keith of Westport; her daughter: Amy E. Walters of New Bedford; brother: William T. Chadwick of Swansea; aunt and uncle: Mr. and Mrs. Raymond T. Chadwick of Swansea; her former husband: Russell C. Walters; as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews.
