Robert O. Vallee, 91, of Gorham, passed away on Wednesday November 11, 2015 at the Androscoggin Valley Hospital in Berlin. He was born in Berlin on May 21, 1924 the son of Arthur and Lucilda (Lessard) Vallee and was a lifelong resident of the area. He was a US Army Air Corps Veteran of World War II and flew 35 missions as a tail gunner in a B-24. He was the last surviving member of his flight crew. Robert had been employed as a shoe maker and then by the Gorham School system for 21 years. He was a member of Holy Family Church, the Dupont-Holmes Post #82 American Legion and the White Mountain Post #2520 VFW.
Family includes his wife Pauline (Garneau) Vallee of Gorham, NH; son Dennis Vallee and wife Denise of Gorham, NH; grandchildren Denielle Maguire and husband Michael of Saranac Lake, NY and Denah Malespini and husband Steven of Naples, ME; great grandchildren Sophia and Sonia; sister Cecile Poirier and husband J.P. of Berlin, NH; brother Gideon Vallee of Berlin, NH; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his siblings Lucien Vallee, Rosario Vallee, Gerard Vallee and Gertrude Ouellette.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday November 16, 2015 at 10 AM at Holy Family Church. Interment will be in the Holy Family Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the Bryant Funeral Home, 1 Promenade St., Gorham, NH on Sunday from 3 to 6 PM. Donations in his memory may be made to the Holy Family Church Building Fund.
