Richard Veron "Daddy Rich" Kinard, Sr., 77, of Lenox passed away Wednesday, November 11, 2015, at his residence following a long-time battle with cancer. His funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 14, 2015, at Tifton’s First Assembly of God with Rev. John Thomas and Rev. Carlton Goddard officiating. Daddy Rich will be laid to rest at Lenox City Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday, November 13, 2015, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Daddy Rich will be placed in the church one hour prior to the service.
Eric Goddard, Bobby Goddard, David McCranie, Rodney McCranie, Tim Luke and Landon Byrd will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be the Adult Sunday school Class at Tifton’s First Assembly of God.
Born July 16, 1938 in Cook County, Daddy Rich was the son of the late Edison Franklin Kinard and Estelle Pafford Kinard. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Dennis McCranie and Dan McCranie; and three sisters, Jewel Bennett, Jean May and Jeanette McCranie. He retired as a truck driver for Shaw Industries and served eight years in the National Guard. He loved spending time with his family; fishing; woodworking; and loved going to church and serving the Lord. He was a long-time, active member of Tifton’s First Assembly of God and had lived in Lenox for 13 years, after living in Ty Ty for 31 years.
Daddy Rich is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Barbara Jean Goddard Kinard of Lenox; two sons and daughters-in-law, Richard Veron Jr. and Terry Kinard and Robby Victor and Alita Kinard, all of Tifton; three daughters and a son-in-law, Rhonda Lynn Williams and Reba Karen and Doug Perkins, all of McRae and Valerie Rose Robertson of Ty Ty; one brother, Charles McCranie of Tifton; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Joyce Davis of Lake Sinclair and Julia and Terry Arthur of Tifton; his grandchildren and their spouses, Angel White, Richard Paul and Karen Kinard, Brian and Brittany Casarez, Nikki and Craig Massey, Britney and Wade Harnage, Richard Malcolm Robertson, Tori Kinard and Ryan Kinard; and 14 great-grandchildren.
