SPRINGFIELD – Marcella E. “Marci” (Jacques) Ackley, 88, of the Glenwood section of Springfield, was Called Safely Home on Monday, November 9, 2015. She passed into Eternal Life at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield surrounded by all the memories she loved and cherished. She was born in Springfield on January 31, 1927, a beloved daughter of the late Louis N. and Eva (Giard) Jacques. She was raised in Springfield, graduated from Technical High School and was a lifelong resident of Springfield. She was employed for many years at the former US Envelope Company in Springfield. Most of all, she was a wonderful homemaker to her family and showered them with her love and affection which was returned to her a thousand fold. She was a communicant of the former Our Lady of Hope Church in Springfield and the former Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church in Chicopee. She leaves her beloved husband and best friend, Frederick D. Ackley, Sr. They were married on November 30, 1948 at the former Our Lady of Hope Church in Springfield and were blessed with over 68 years of happiness together. She also leaves her loving son and daughter-in-law, Frederick D. “Rick” Ackley, Jr. and his wife, Maria, of Springfield; her two cherished grandsons, Richard “Rich” Ackley and his wife, Jenn, of Wilbraham and Scott Ackley and his wife, Jill, of West Springfield; her six cherished great-grandchildren, Hannah, Jacob and Breydan and Dylan, Rosemary and Bridget; and her many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, friends and extended members of the Ackley and Jacques families. Besides her beloved parents, she was also predeceased by her two loving sons, Mark J. “Duke” Ackley who was Called Home on July 11, 2004 and James C. Ackley who was Called Home on October 1, 2006. Her funeral will be held on Friday morning, November 13, 2015 at 10 a.m. at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Springfield Chapels, (413-737-1177), 7 Chapin Terrace, Springfield, MA 01107, (funeral home will open at 9 a.m.). Her burial will follow the service at Calvary Cemetery, 292 Hampden Street, Chicopee, MA 01013.
