Richard D. "Dick" Dube', 83 years of age, passed on, to the Lord on the 7th Day, of November, 2015 peacefully at home. He was the beloved husband of Margaret H. (Belanger) Dubé, to whom he was married for 61 years.
Born in Lawrence Mass on August 30, 1932, Dick was the son of Ludger and Clarina (Lafond)
Dubé, and was one of 14 children. He was educated at St. Anne's and Lawrence High Schools.
He proudly served his country during the Korean War with the U.S. Air Force. Dick served at Ethan Allen Air Force Base and Fort Devens. Following his education in the service in aircraft mechanics, he furthered his education at Merrimack College and Lowell Tech.
Dick was the founder and owner of Dick's TV & Appliance of Lawrence, and Methuen, also Dick's Salem TV & Appliance of Salem, NH. Recently retiring at 83, Dick said " I will miss the interaction with people most".
Dick was a 4th degree with the Knights of Columbus, a member of the Elks Club, Holy Family Men's Guild and many other charitable organizations. Through the years he has enjoyed traveling with his wife and friends, and loved entertaining at their home in Florida. Dick had passions that included Golfing, Boating, Rockingham Park, and playing 45's or Cribbage.
But most of all he was in his glory with his family being Grampy Dubé.
Dick will be deeply missed by his wife Marge; 4 children, Richard R. Dubé and wife, Kathleen of Andover MA, Susan M. Davis and son in law Robert of Salem NH, Linda L. Sullivan and husband Robert of Andover MA, and Douglas D. Dubé of San Francisco, CA., 5 grandchildren, Matthew O. Davis and wife Rebecca, Kristin A. Dubé, Michael R. Davis and wife Suzanne, Richard (Chad) Dubé, and Sean M. Sullivan; 6 great grandchildren, Paris, Gavin, Branden, Anthony, Gabriel, and Jonathan Davis. 2 brothers, Armand Dubé of Hutchinson,KA, and Gerald Dubé of Dracut MA; his sister Helen Defosses of Lawrence, MA, and many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will take place Thursday, November 12, 2015 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at St. Monica's Church. On Friday morning at 10:00 AM, relatives and friends will meet at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence St. Methuen. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow in St. Monica's Church at 11:00 AM. Entombment to follow at St. Mary/Immaculate Conception Mausoleum in Lawrence, MA.
