Dawn M. (Fitzpatrick) Ferreira, a resident of Medford and former resident of Charlestown and Salem, New Hampshire, entered into eternal life on Saturday, November 7, 2015 at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston following a 3 week battle with cancer. She was 54 years old.
Dawn was born in Somerville on July 5, 1961, a daughter of Joseph T. "Jopa" Fitzpatrick and Margaret C. (Upton) Fitzpatrick. She grew up in Charlestown and was educated at St. Ambrose Parochial School in Dorchester and graduated from Julie Billiart High School in Boston in 1979. Dawn worked for many years as a custodian with the Medford Public School system. Recently she had been working as the Function Manager for the Medford Elks. Dawn enjoyed the beach and sitting in the sun as much as she could, but her passion and most enjoyment in her life was her three grandchildren whom she admired the most. She is a member of the Medford Elks, Lodge # 915.
Dawn is the beloved wife of 16 years to Richard F. Magliozzi. She is the devoted mother of Dawn Roberson and her husband Robert of Salem, New Hampshire, Theresa Ferreira and her fiancé James Avanzino of Hampstead, New Hampshire and Priscilla Robertson and her husband Rob of Danville, New Hampshire. She is the loving Nana to Payton, Carli and James. She is the beloved daughter of Joseph T. "Jopa" Fitzpatrick and the late Margaret C. (Upton) Fitzpatrick. She is the beloved sister of Jay Fitzpatrick, Daniel Fitzpatrick and Dana Fitzpatrick. She is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Dawn's Funeral Mass on Monday, November 16, 2015 at 11 A.M. in St. Francis De Sales Church, 313 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown. Her burial is private. There are no funeral home visiting hours.
