DUDLEY – Dorothy B. “Dot” (Brush) Jackson, 82, died Friday, November 6, 2015 in Webster Manor after a period of declining health. Her husband of 56 years, Albert S. “Big Al” Jackson, Jr., died in 2013.
She leaves 2 sons, Gilbert L. Jackson and his wife Gail of Webster and Gary B. Jackson and his wife Kristin of Bondsville; 2 grandsons, Erik Jackson and Matthew Bard and his wife Caitlin; a great-grandson Liam; 2 brothers, Donald Brush of Harmony, RI and Frank Brush of Dayville, CT; a sister, Barbara Brush of Greenville, RI; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by 2 brothers and a sister.
She was born in Providence and raised in Greenville, RI, a daughter of George and Elsie (Bailey) Brush and graduated from North Providence High School in 1951. She moved to Webster in 1957 and then to Dudley the next year.
Mrs. Jackson was a clerk in the library at Shepherd Hill Regional High School. She then was the secretary to the dean of students at Nichols College, and retired as a secretary at Tri-Valley, Inc. in 2013.
She was a member of the First Congregational Church of Dudley and sang as a soprano in its choir for many years. She enjoyed reading, completing crossword puzzles, and playing board games. She loved the time she spent with her family and with people of all walks of life.
Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 PM Wednesday, November 11, in the Sitkowski & Malboeuf Funeral Home, 340 School Street, Webster. Rev. John R. White will conduct a service to celebrate Dot’s life at 6:00 PM during the visitation.
