Joel R. Teixeira, Jr., 45, of Dartmouth died May 29, 2005 unexpectedly at home.
Born in New Bedford, the son of Joel R. and Justina D. (Monteiro) Teixeira, he lived in Dartmouth most of his life.
He was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Assumption Church.
Mr. Teixeira was employed as a security guard at the University of Massachusetts-Dartmouth for two years.
He served in the U.S. Army.
Survivors include his parents; three brothers, Brian C. Teixeira of New Bedford, David Teixeira of Boston and Rodney Teixeira, and his wife Tina, of Waldorf, MD; three sisters, Maria DaRosa, and her husband Steve, and Gina Hill, and her husband Steve, all of New Bedford, Joan Gomes, and her husband Allen, of Jacksonville, FL; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford Friday at 8 AM. Funeral Mass at Our Lady of the Assumption Church at 9 AM.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Visiting hours Thursday, June 2nd from 5-9 PM.
Interment St. John's Cemetery.
