Joan (Griffin) Diffley of Queen Creek, Arizona and formerly of Franklin, MA passed away on Tuesday, November 3, 2015 in her home. She was the wife of the late John Diffley who passed away in 1996.
Born in Queens NY on May 12th, 1933 to the late Arthur and Lillian Griffin.
Mrs. Diffley grew up in Queens Village and completed her Masters in Nursing Education at New York University.
Mrs. Diffley had worked at Good Samaritan Hospital in Suffern NY and at Westlake Hospital in Melrose Park IL
She enjoyed reading, crocheting, the Boston Red Sox, and belonging to the Silver Sneakers Club.
She is survived by her children, John Diffley and his wife Lucy Drury of London, England, Karen Murtha and her Husband Jim of Queen Creek, AZ and Marybeth Diffley and her Husband Sebastiao Loureiro of New York City.
She is also survived by her grandchildren , Kristen Murtha of Los Angeles CA and Madalyn Murtha of Washington DC, and her step grandchildren, Amanda Loureiro of Bronx NY, Mark Drury, Domenick Drury, and Stephanie Drury of London England.
She is also survived by her Sister Paula Flynn of Collinsville CT, her niece Joanne Hoerner of Farmington CT, and her nephew Jay Flynn of Atlanta GA.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral from the Ginley Funeral Home of Franklin, 131 Main St., Franklin on Monday, November 16 at 9:15 AM. Followed by a funeral Mass at St. Mary Church, 1 Church Square, Franklin at 10:00AM.
Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, Franklin.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 12-3 PM.
