Rodolfo "Rudy" DiRado of Medford died on Thursday, November 5. Born and raised in Filetto, Italy, he was the son of the late Nicolo and Liberata (DeVincentis) DiRado. After leaving Italy, Rudy settled first in Boston's North End before moving to Medford in 1971. He was a proud member of Local 22.
Rudy was the beloved husband of the late Anna (DiTullio) DiRado, and the devoted father of Maria Cohn and her husband Jason, Nicholas DiRado and his wife Lisa, all of Stoneham. He was the loving grandfather "Nonno" of Daniel, Eliana and Nicholas, and the cherished brother of Maria Pompelio and her husband Felicito, Lidia Micozzi and her late husband Ceasare, all of Italy, twin sister Anna DiCola and her husband Rocco of France, the late Giannino DiRado and his surviving wife Giuseppina of Italy, the late Flora DiTullio and her late husband Peppino. Dear brother-in-law of Paolina DiRado and her husband Vincenzo of Braintree, Rocco DiTullio and his wife Selina of Roslindale. Rudy is also survived by his loving companion Susan McNamara of Medford, and many loving nieces, nephews, friends and relatives.
Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, on Thursday, November 12 at 10:30 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 118 High St., Medford, at 11:30 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Wednesday, November 11 from 4 through 8 PM. Services will conclude with entombment at Holy Cross Mausoleum, Malden.
