Garey Hesselton died unexpectedly on Tuesday, November 3, 2015 in Westport, MA. He was 66.
Garey was born on July, 28th 1949 in Worcester, MA to his parents, the late Ralph and Helen Hesselton. He graduated from the University of Massachusetts, Lowell with a degree in Marketing and Finance in 1975. He held marketing and sales positions in the medical and clinical diagnostic field. He later obtained his Masters in Social Work from West Chester University in 2007, and a post graduate program in marriage and family counseling from Council for Relationships in 2008. He retired in 2013 and traveled the country with his wife, Jana.
Garey was passionate about the outdoors, his church community and his family. He loved traveling, especially enjoying National Parks and spending time outdoors with his wife, children and grandchildren.
Garey is survived by his wife, Jana (née Silvey), daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Sean McCarthy, and grandchildren, Hayden and Kristen of Norwell, MA; his son and daughter-in-law, Ben and Stacey Hesselton, and grandchildren Brody and Andrew of Grafton, MA; his son and daughter-in-law, Geoff and Samantha Hesselton, of Harleysville, PA; his son and daughter-in-law, Greg Hesselton and Mollie McElroy of West Chester, PA; and brother, Scott Hesselton. He is preceded in death by his brothers Don and Randy.
A memorial will take place on Saturday, November 14. at Downingtown Friends Meeting at 800 East Lancaster Avenue, Downingtown, PA at 10:00 A.M. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Garey’s life.
