Julia M. Gallagher
Retired Wang Labs Inspector


TEWKSBURY: Julia M. (Carty) Gallagher, age 94, a resident of Tewksbury for 62 years, passed away at the Wingate of Andover on Thursday, November 5, 2015, with family by her side.
She was the beloved wife of James A. Gallagher, Sr. who passed away September 17, 2003.
Born in Boston on September 2, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Stephen Carty and the late Mary (Blacquiere) Carty.
Julia was raised in East Boston and attended East Boston schools.
In 1953, she and her late husband moved to Tewksbury, where they raised their children.
Prior to her retirement in 1985, she was employed as a Quality Control Inspector for Wang Laboratories in Tewksbury, where she worked for 20 years.
Julia enjoyed flower gardening and spending time with her family.
She is survived by three children, James A. Gallagher, Jr. and his wife Deb of Tewksbury, Paul S. Gallagher and his wife Diane of Nashua, NH and Elaine M. Yost of Goffstown, NH; four grandchildren, Brian Yost and his wife Christina of Goffstown, NH, Stephen Gallagher of Billerica, Michael Gallagher and his wife Heather of Nashua, NH, and Matthew Gallagher and his wife Mariah of Orlando, FL; six great grandchildren, Brianna and Julia Yost of Goffstown, NH, Abigail and Alexander Gallagher of Nashua, NH, Regan and Greyson Gallagher of Orlando, FL; one sister, Theresa Grimes and her husband Jack of Fremont, NH; also many nieces and nephews.
Julia was the sister of the late Ernestine Nickerson, Irene Doherty, and John Carty.
The family would like to thank the second floor staff at Wingate of Andover for the kind and compassionate care given to Julia.

Calling hours are Saturday, Nov. 7, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee St., Tewksbury, immediately followed by Funeral Services to be held at 1 O’clock at the funeral home. Interment at Tewksbury Cemetery.
