Obituary

Janice Darlene Turner went home to be with the lord on October 24, 2015. Darlene was born November 11, 1937 in Woodland, California to Noel and Delores Brooks. She had five siblings. Brothers, Dean, Alfred, Lyle, Clayton and sister, Karen. Darlene was married September 22, 1956 to Carl Edward Turner in Squires, Missouri. They worked in many different locations until they found their home and settled in the Yakima Valley. Darlene and Carl were married 54 years until Carl passed away November 26, 2010.
Darlene is survived by sons, Dr. Carl Turner (Cyndi) of Storm Lake, Iowa and Johnny Turner (Susan) of Grandview, WA. Grandchildren, Josh Turner of Westpoint, Mississippi, Sarah Huntley (Shawn) of Montevideo, Minnesota, Micah Wagener (David) of Cheyenne, Wyoming, Jesse Turner of Kennewick, WA and Kasey Kern (Ian) of Lake Forest Park, WA. Great Grandchildren, Clara, Alaina, Charlie, Eli, Lucas and Noah (pictured with Darlene). Darlene was looking forward to meeting Noah's little sister who will be arriving in December. Darlene was preceded in death by husband, Carl; brothers, Dean and Lyle; and great granddaughter Olivia Brelynne Turner. Darlene was an excellent homemaker and cook and took care of everyone around her with love. She loved to watch her sons play basketball and was known to be quite a shot herself. Darlene acepted Jesus as her savior and prayed daily for him to watch over her entire family.
She was a beloved Mother, Grandmother, Sister and Aunt. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. The family would like to thank Prestige Nursing Home of Sunnyside and Prosser Funeral Home for their caring and kindness that truly makes this world a better place. There will be no formal services.
