Edward Norman Joseph, 69, of Margate, Florida, formerly of Warwick, RI, passed away Sunday, October 25, 2015 at home surrounded by his family. He was the loving husband of Ninette (Gebrael) Joseph.
Edward was born on January 5, 1946, son of the late Norman and Mary (Thomas) Joseph. He was born and raised in New Bedford, MA. After graduating from Bishop Stang High School and Providence College he went on to be the proprietor of Eddie’s Dry Goods in New Bedford. He then owned and operated a Shell Gas Station in Rhode Island and managed Mobil franchises in Florida before retiring.
He loved his family and his faith. He was a communicant of The Heart of Jesus, Maronite Catholic Church in Fort Lauderdale, FL. He was proud of his Lebanese American heritage.
He was married to his loving wife, Ninette (Gebrael) Joseph for over 45 years. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his four children, Angele Bentley and her husband Jason, Helen Matta and her husband Samir, Mary Ellen Joseph-Heidelberg and her wife Lara and Norman Joseph and his wife Margarita; his grandchildren, George, Charbel , Chadi, Victoria, Megan, Cristian and Matthew; his aunt and uncles, Janet Lalor and her late husband Walter Lalor, Rejeanne Thomas and her late husband Atty. George Thomas, Fernanda Thomas and her late husband Atty. Fred Thomas and the late Arthur and Anne Thomas; the entire Abi Semaan family in Lebanon; the David family in New Bedford; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law in both Rhode Island and Lebanon; and many godchildren and cousins.
His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday November 7, 2015 at 10 AM at Our Lady of Purgatory Church, 11 Franklin Street, New Bedford, with the interment immediately following at Saint Mary’s Cemetery.
