S. James Alberino, age 88, passed away after a brief illness at Hollywood, Florida on October 10, 2015.
“Edie” was the daughter of the late Francesco and Catherine Gulla. “Jim” was the son of the late Giuseppe and Mary Alberino. Jim and Edie met as kids in the West End of Boston and became childhood sweethearts. In 1945 Jim enlisted in the US Army and served his country as part of the occupying forces in Japan. Upon his return, Jim attended Norwich and University of Maine while Edie worked in Boston. In 1950 they were married, and shortly thereafter Jim graduated from Suffolk Law School. They lived together in Quincy for many years where they raised a family while Jim practiced law in Boston. Jim and Edie were always together in love and celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary this past August.
Jim and Edie are survived by their son James J. Alberino and his wife June of Marblehead, MA, their daughter Catherine Champion and her husband Kelton of Wilton Manors, FL, their granddaughter Nicole Tibbetts and her husband Jon of Manchester, NH, their grandson Jay Alberino of Boston, MA, and many nieces and nephews.
Jim and Edie enjoyed golf, bocce, traveling and spending time with friends and family. Memories of tasting Edie’s favorite Italian dishes and laughing at Jim and Edie’s good-natured humor will be cherished by all.
