Obituary

DOLAN, Margaret “Peggy” Philomena of Weston, passed away on October 31st, 2015.  Peggy was 89 years young. Beloved daughter of the late James Dolan and Bridget Doherty Dolan. Loving sister of Alice Dolan Coakley and her late husband, Paul J. Coakley, sister of the late Mary Dolan Corcoran and her surviving husband, John Corcoran, and sister of James C. Dolan and his late wife, Carol Dolan. Peggy was a superlative and doting aunt to her 12 devoted nieces and nephews, Maura Coakley Cleary and husband John of Winchester, Paul Coakley and wife Lulu of Winchester, Julie Coakley Marvin and husband Todd of Acton, Ann Coakley of Newton, and the “Jersey” relations:  Kevin Corcoran, Peggy Corcoran Tankel, Michael Corcoran, Thomas Corcoran, Julie Corcoran, and Cathy Corcoran Tingley; as well as Chris Dolan of California, Brett Dolan of Pennsylvania, and the later Jennifer Dolan.  Also survived by a host of loving grand nieces and nephews.

Peggy was born and grew up in Weston and was a 1943 graduate of Weston High School. She attended Bryant & Stratton business school and worked in Boston for many years as an executive secretary for Eastern Gas & Fuel. She enjoyed travel and had a reputation for her sense of fashion and style. Peggy was a daily walker and took great pride in maintaining her home, garden, and impeccable lawn.  According to Peggy, nothing was better than getting outdoors for a ” snoot-full of fresh air.” An active and life-long member of St. Julia’s parish in Weston, Peggy volunteered in the church office for many years. A  devoted sister, aunt, and friend to many, Peg’s flair for life, upbeat and feisty spirit, generosity, and love will live on with us always.

Funeral Mass in celebration of Peggy’s life will be at 10:00 am on Friday, November 6th at St. Julia’s Church, 374 Boston Post Rd., Weston, MA. All friends and family are invited. Interment immediately following at Linwood Cemetery in Weston, MA.
