Ajemian, Gerald of Dover and Harwichport passed away suddenly on October 27, 2015, at the age of 91. Beloved husband of Lucille (Paloian) Ajemian and the late Lily (Paloian) Ajemian. Devoted father of Geri Lyn Ajemian of Watertown, Marianne Ajemian of Boston, Robert James Ajemian of Brookline and the late John Gerald Ajemian. Gerald was born in Providence, RI, the only son of the late John Ajemian and the late Lily (Abazian) Ajemian. Gerald was a US Navy WWII Veteran, serving in the North Atlantic sector.
In 1950, he received a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the Illinois Institute of Technology. Gerald began his career as an industrial engineer at Kitchen Art Foods, where he transitioned through many roles during his 19 years there, ultimately becoming the President of the company. After a long career as a food business executive, Gerald was a member of the investment group that purchased O’Donnell-Usen Fisheries in Boston, MA and served as its President and CEO. The company was later sold to CONAGRA and Gerald remained as a consultant to CONAGRA and to Thomas H. Lee Co., until his retirement. Gerald was a dedicated member of the Holy Trinity Armenian Apostolic Church of Greater Boston in Cambridge, MA for over 40 years and served the church in many capacities, including 23 years of service as a Diocesan Delegate.
Gerald was a former member of the President’s Council at Bentley College, the Presidents’ Council at the Illinois Institute of Technology and the Council of Armenian Executives. Private funeral services were held at Holy Trinity Armenian Apostolic Church of Greater Boston followed by internment at Mount Auburn Cemetery, Cambridge, MA.
