KELLEY, Roy A. of Needham on October 29, 2015 at the age of 83.
Beloved husband of Alice E. (Gaquin) Kelley for 61 years. Devoted and loving father to Janice Rowan and husband Dana of Boston, Diane Herald and husband David of Westford, and Richard Kelley and wife Kristin of Mamaroneck, NY. Cherished grandfather of Kelley Herald, Scott Herald, William Rowan,, and Timothy, Colin and Cara Kelley. Brother of William Kelley and wife Angie of Cohasset. Beloved uncle of many nieces and nephews.
Graduate of Waltham High School and Northeastern University (1955), where he played hockey, including in first two Beanpot Tournaments. Served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1952 to 1958 and in Marine Corps Reserves until 1972, retiring as Lt. Colonel.
He was a Vice President at the First National Bank of Boston where he worked for 32 years, including 3-year tour in London. Also worked for Signature Bank in NH for 11 years.
Past member of Needham School Committee, Personnel Board, Town Meeting, Trustee of Glover Memorial Hospital and current member Parish Council of St. Bartholomew's Church in Needham. Past treasurer of Needham Golf Club and Saddle Hill Country Club in Hopkington, and current member of The Wardroom Club of Boston.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, November 3rd at St. Bartholomew’s Church in Needham at 10 am followed by interment with military honors at Needham Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Monday, November 2nd from 4-8 pm at George F. Doherty & Sons Funeral Home, 1305 Highland Ave. Needham.
