Mildred “Millie” Lloyd, 88, of Auburn, Michigan (formerly of Ocilla, Georgia) died Thursday, October 29, 2015, at her granddaughter’s residence in Auburn, Michigan.
Funeral services will be held 2 PM, Saturday, November 7, 2015, at Bethlehem Baptist Church in Irwin County with the Rev. John Gibbs, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the church on Saturday.
Mrs. Lloyd was born January 20, 1927, in Fitzgerald, Georgia, to the late Otis Leroy & Mattie Kate Morris Brogdon. She was a homemaker and an insurance clerk for Baptist Hospital in Miami, Florida. She moved to Ocilla in 1981 from Miami and later lived in California and South Carolina. She spent the past year in Michigan to be closer to family. While in Miami, she and her husband were active in the Moose Lodge. She was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Yvonne & Allen Lacroix of Charlotte, Michigan; two granddaughters: Melissa & Eric Wetz and Michelle Ramey, all of Auburn, Michigan; five great-grandchildren; two sisters: Wanetah “Mickey” & Charles “Chuck” Muzzey and Charlotte & Hugh Roberts, all of Ocilla as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Russell Lloyd; a sister, Carol Golden; and two brothers: Otis L. Brogdon, Jr. and Lewis Lee Brogdon.
