Obituary

Louis M. Amoriggi, 96, of Juniper Lane, Greenville, died Thursday, October 29, 2015 at Brentwood Nursing Home in Warwick. He was the loving husband of Lillian (Pandozzi) Amoriggi for 64 years.

Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Pietro and Giovannia (Miale) Amoriggi. He had lived in Greenville since 1963.

He served in the Navy during WWII on board the USS Indianapolis. He was a trumpeter in the Navy Band as well as a Pearl Harbor veteran and a recipient of the Victory Medal.

Mr. Amoriggi was a former co-owner of the original Amoriggi Seafoods, Inc. in Johnston and Cranston. He was a lifelong avid golfer and an original member of the Quidnessett Country Club.

Besides his wife he is survived by his son, Louis M. Amoriggi and his wife, Jo-Ann Buonaiuto Amoriggi of East Greenwich, his grandchildren: Jacqueline DeNuccio and her husband, Jeffrey, Christina Fazzano and Catherine Amoriggi and a great grandson, Joseph DeNuccio. He was the father of the late Donna Leah Amoriggi and brother of the late Cosmo, Joseph, Anthony, and Peter Amoriggi, Rose Green, Claire Arpin, and Mary McGloin.

Mass of Christian Burial Monday at 9:30am in St. Philip Church, 622 Putnam Pike, Greenville. Visitation Sunday 4-6pm from Anderson-Winfield Home, Rt 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville. Burial with Military Honors will follow in St. Ann's Cemetery, Cranston.
