WEBSTER – Dhimitraq “Taqo” Xega, 60, died Wednesday, October 28, 2015 at the Rose Monahan Hospice in Worcester after an illness.
He leaves his wife of 33 years, Lefteri (Puriqi) Xega; 2 daughters, Eleni and her husband John Sgouritsas of Dudley and Kristina Xega and her companion Eric Dinarello of Boston; a brother, Nikolla Xega of Albania; 5 sisters, Spira Samara of Webster, Sofia Lena of Greece, Vasilika Zhidro of Worcester, Vangjeli Nita of Greece and Aleksandra Nita of Albania; 2 grandchildren, Giorgios Sgouritsas and Persefoni Zoi Sgouritsas.
He was born in Erseke and raised in Korce, Albania, a son of Harito and Elefteri (Bello) Xega. He received his Master’s Degree in Veterinary Medicine in Albania .
Mr. Xega was a professor in a veterinary school in Albania before moving to America.
He was a member of Sts. Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church. He enjoyed writing, reading, music was a huge sports fan of all Boston teams and was a soccer enthusiast. His greatest love was the time spent with his family.
The funeral service will be held Wednesday, November 4, at 10:00 A.M. in Sts. Constantine and Helen G.O.C, 35 Lake Parkway. Burial will be in Mount Zion Cemetery. Calling hours will be Tuesday, November 3, from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. with a Trisagion Service at 6:00 P.M. in the church. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Sitkowski & Malboeuf Funeral Home, 340 School Street.
