Obituary

Lavelle Harmon Dalton, age 84, died Tuesday, October 27, 2015 at her home in Paris, MS surrounded by her family. She was born November 28, 1930 in the Paris Community in Lafayette County, MS to Richard H. and Rosa Holmes Harmon. As long as her health permitted, Lavelle was an active and faithful member of Paris Baptist Church. She was previously employed at Big Yank (formerly Rice Stix) in Water Valley, MS. She was a homemaker and a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Lavelle enjoyed reading her Bible and studying God’s Word, gardening and flowers.

Visitation will be held from 1:30 pm until 3:00 pm on Thursday, October 29, 2015 at Seven Oaks Funeral Home in Water Valley, MS. Funeral services will begin immediately following the visitation, at 3:00 pm in the Henry Chapel of Seven Oaks. Burial will be in the Paris Cemetery with Marty Harmon, Timmy Castleberry, Mack Thweatt, Cory Thweatt, Dave Yarbrough, Jake Yarbrough, Eddie Harmon and Davis Harmon serving as pallbearers.

Lavelle is survived by her daughter, Donna Ruth Dalton of Paris, MS; her son, Ricky Dalton of Paris, MS; two grandchildren, Dana Dalton and Dylan Dalton both of Paris, MS; her sister, Laverne Thompson of Water Valley, MS; a niece who was thought of as a sister, Beth (Mack) Thweatt of Paris, MS and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, James Dalton; three sisters, Faye Coulter, Joyce Yarbrough, and Macie Castleberry; and four brothers, Marton Harmon, Mayford Harmon, Tom Harmon and John Harmon.
