Lawrence – Alice P. (Parent) Roy, 82 of Lawrence, died peacefully on Tuesday, October 27, 2015 at the Mary Immaculate Nursing Home in Lawrence. She was the beloved wife of Donald W. Roy to whom she was married for 62 years.
Alice was born in Waltham, MA on December 30, 1932, the daughter of Lucas and Loretta (Houle) Parent. She was educated in Lawrence schools and worked as a presser at Anton’s Cleaners. In her free time, she loved going to the mountains and the beach. She also loved spending time with her grandchildren and her cats. She also enjoyed playing hearts.
Alice will be deeply missed her husband, Donald Roy; 2 sons, Donald E. Roy and his wife, Nancy J. of Methuen and John R. Roy and his wife, Kimberly of Bradford; her daughter, Debra A. Bosworth of Dracut and her partner, Cheryl Beaudoin; 2 grandchildren, Daniel J. Roy and his wife, Jennifer of Salem, NH and Devyn Roy of Bradford; her great grandson, Tyler Roy; 2 brothers, Emil Parent and his wife, Dorothy of Methuen and Roger Parent of Weare, NH; several nieces and nephews; and her best friend, Marion Snow. She is predeceased by 2 brothers, Wilfred Parent and Raymond Parent and her sister, Loretta Lacourse.
Family and friends will honor and celebrate Alice’s life by gathering for calling hours at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence Street in Methuen on Monday, November 2, 2015 from 4 - 7 P.M. Her funeral service will take place at 7 PM on Monday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested, in Alice’s honor, memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer's Association 480 Pleasant Street, Watertown, MA 02472.
