LEICESTER:Evelyn E. Whitney 92, of Burncoat St., died Wednesday, Oct. 28 at Life Care Center of Auburn.
She leaves two brothers Robert Whitney and his wife Barbara of Cherry Valley, and Clifford Whitney and his wife Judith of Thompson, Ct., and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by brothers; Raymond, Leroy and Earl Whitney and a sister Rita Petersen.
Evelyn worked at the former Reed & Prince Mfg.Co.in Worcester for 43 years, retiring in 1986. She was an accomplished area softball player and volunteered her time with the Leicester Little League for many years.She was a member of St. Joseph/St. Pius X Parish.
Born in Leicester, she was the daughter of Leroy E. and Irene (Lavallee) Whitney.
Her funeral will be held on Friday, October 30 from the MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 1131 Main St., Leicester with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Pius X Church, 1153 Main St., Leicester. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Leicester. A calling hour will precede the service on Friday from 9 to 9:45 am. in the funeral home.
