Mabel P. Ferreira, 78, died on Monday October 26th at UMass Memorial Hospital after a brief illness.
Mabel was born in Franklin the daughter of the late Dominic and Evelyn (Pimentel) LaForest. Mabel worked for the former Filenes Company for many years. She enjoyed playing bingo and spending time with her family. She was a member of the Vernon Hill American Legion Post #435 Ladies Auxiliary.
Mabel is survived by her beloved husband, Arthur Ferreira; her children, Arthur Ferreira of Whitinsville, Edward Ferreira of Grafton, Debra Smith of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Brenda Trottier, Diane Wheeler of Cornville, ME, Leo Boutiette of Worcester, Cindy Boutiette of Farmington, Maine, Yvonne Boutiette of Whitinsville; step children, Arthur A. “Babe” Ferreira of Falmouth and Alan A. Ferreira of Woonsocket, RI; 30 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Three sisters, Doris Cleibs, Carol Morrison and Loretta Godin, predeceased her.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday, October 30th from 4:00 until 7:00 pm at the CALLAHAN, FAY & CASWELL FUNERAL HOME, 61 Myrtle St. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, October 31st at 10:00AM at St. Stephen’s Church 357 Grafton St. Burial will be in St. John the Baptist Cemetery, Bellingham.
