Lawrence “Dee” Eastridge, 77, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Monday, October 26, 2015, at the Carl Vinson VA Medical Center in Dublin, Georgia.
Memorial services will be held 11 AM, Friday, October 30, 2015, at St. Peters United Methodist Church in Fitzgerald, with the Rev. Annette Brooks officiating. Interment will be private.
Mr. Eastridge was born September 25, 1938, to the late Clifton L. Blevins & Winnie M. Neil. He served his country honorably in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. He worked in the construction industry and did roofing work as well. He loved to travel and always had a joke to tell. Mr. Eastridge moved to the V.A. in Dublin one year ago and enjoyed singing at functions held there. He was instrumental in reestablishing the Honor Guard at the hospital. Mr. Eastridge was a member of St. Peters United Methodist Church and sang with the Bernhardt Singers.
He is survived by his children: Pam Ross of Fitzgerald, Tom & Shannon Eastridge of Texas, Vale & Matt Johnson of Washington, Kim Bolen of Missouri, and Larry Gray of Missouri; grandchildren: Peyton, Luke, and Christian Ross, Gabriel Eastridge, J.J., Aaron, and Anthony Johnson, and Anthony Bolen. Several great-grandchildren also survive. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Tommie Luke Eastridge; and a son, Bruno Eastridge.
