Mrs. Irene P. Thomas, 87, wife of the late William C. Thomas, went to be with the Lord and her husband on Thursday, October 22, 2015 in Augusta, Georgia.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 pm on Friday, October 30, 2015 in the Platt’s Belair Road Chapel, 337 N. Belair Road, Evans, GA. The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm until the hour of service, at the Funeral Home.
Interment services will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, October 31, 2015 at Graceland Cemetery, Greenville, SC.
Mrs. Thomas was a native of Greenville, SC and lived in Augusta, Georgia for the past seven years. Mrs. Thomas previously worked for the Belk Dollar Store and Judson and Brandon Mills. She enjoyed reading, good conversation with people and delicious meals. She looked forward to traveling with her husband. She was a member of Washington Avenue Baptist Church.
She is survived by son, William Thomas and wife Cathy, two step grandchildren, Rebecca and Andrew, son, Randall Thomas and wife Millie, two grandchildren, Emily and Phillip, siblings, Novelene Stewart and husband Gene of Greenville, IN, Ocieville (Nig) Ragsdale of Easley, SC, Bea Murphree and husband Jimmy of Greenville, SC, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to the Alzheimer’s Association, 1899 Central Avenue, Augusta, GA 30904.
