Obituary

Elbert Paul Davenport, Jr., 75, of Berlin, passed away at this home after a lengthy battle with cancer. He was born in Berlin on September 26, 1940 the son of Elbert P. Sr. & Margaret E (Ripley) Davenport and was a lifelong resident. He graduated from Berlin High School and served in the US Army for 4 years. He was employed as the Head Machinist and Parts Counter Clerk for Kelley’s Auto Parts in Berlin for many years prior to his retirement and continued to sharpen saws at his home after retiring. He was a Life Member, Past President and Trustee of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, a proud supporter of Disabled American Veterans (DAV), a member of St. Anne Church of Good Shepherd Parish. He loved hunting and was an avid camper, but most of all enjoyed spending time with his family.

Family includes his four sons, Brian Davenport and wife Valerie of Florida, Dan Davenport and girlfriend Jodie Lavigne of Berlin, NH, Scott Davenport and wife Brenda of Belmont, NH, Keith Davenport and fiancée Alison Giglio of Berlin, NH; four sisters Althea (Davenport) L’Heureux of Milan, NH, Margie Osborne of Norwich, CT, Virginia Blais of Manchester, NH and Patty Waterhouse of Vermont and one brother Steven Davenport of Nashua, NH.He was predeceased by his wife Sylvia J. (Laflamme) Davenport.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday October 30, 2015 at 10am at St. Anne Church of Good Shepherd Parish. There will be no calling hours. Relatives and friends are asked to meet directly at church.
