Martha L. Kohberger age 62 of Brockton, died Saturday October 24, 2015 at the McCarthy Care Center in Sandwich surrounded by her family and friends. Martha was the beloved friend and spouse for 47 years of Halise Shrago.
Martha was born in Long Beach, California and bounced around the country due to her father’s job. She settled in the East in 1968 and was a 1971 graduate of Bridgewater-Raynham High School. She also received her bachelor’s degree from Farmington University in Maine in 1975. For many years, Martha was an auditor at Mutual Bank (formerly Security Federal) in Whitman until illness forced her to stop.
Martha was passionate about the care and comfort of retired racing greyhounds. She was a member and treasurer of Greyhound Pets of America, Mass Chapter. She enjoyed traveling with her dogs around the country for greyhound events. She was well known and loved by greyhound owners across the country.
Martha will be remembered as a quiet but strong willed woman with a dry sense of humor. She was happiest sitting around with her spouse petting her dogs.
In addition to her wife Halise, Martha leaves a sister Carla D. Kohberger of Orlando, Florida.
