Rev. Father Donald E. Lafond, 79, of Manchester died October 17, 2015 at his residence with his loving family by his side.
Born in Manchester on November 6, 1935, he was the son of Alfred and Evelyn Lafond. He attended St. Anthony High School and earned his bachelor’s degree from St. Anselm College. Post graduating, he studied at the University of Lubaine in Belgium and received a master’s degree from Boston College.
Fr. Lafond was ordained in July of 1962.
Fr. Lafond’s ministries included many positions throughout the state of New Hampshire, his most recent being 17 years as chaplain at the Catholic Medical Center.
Fr. Lafond was predeceased by his parents Alfred and Evelyn Lafond and his brother Normand Lafond and survived by his sister Dianne Harden of Florida and 9 nieces and nephews.
A memorial Mass of Christian burial was celebrated on Friday, November 6, 2015 in Our Lady of Mercy Church, Merrimack.
