Syble A. Short Walker, 68, of Tifton passed away Friday, October 23, 2015 at Tift Regional Medical Center. A graveside funeral service will be held for Mrs. Walker at 2:00 p.m. Monday, October 26. 2015, at Oak Ridge Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest. Rev. Brantley Seymour will officiate. The family will receive friends Sunday, October 25, 2015, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Jerry Walker, Kyle Scarborough, Keith Webb, Kyle Webb, Ken Walker and Billy Anglon will serve as pallbearers.
Born May 5, 1947 in Summerville, Mrs. Walker was the daughter of Nora Mae Carpenter Short of Tifton and the late Kenneth Short. She was retired from the spinning department at Avondale Mills and had lived in Tifton since 1961.
In addition to her mother, Mrs. Walker is survived by her husband, John W. Walker of Tifton; her son and daughter-in-law, Brian and Amber Walker of Greenville, South Carolina; her daughter and son-in-law, Melissa and Kyle Gray of Tifton; two sisters and a brother-in-law, George and Billy Anglon of Poulan and Judy Berger of Tifton; and five grandchildren, Olivia Hudson, Jackson Gray, Gavin Gray, Will Walker and Claire Walker.
