Obituary

HUDSON - Berardino P. Giancola, age 84 died peacefully at 9:15 p.m. on Thursday, October 22, 2015.

For two days he labored surrounded by the Love of his family. His devoted wife of 62 years Pauline, bent down and gave him a goodnight kiss, as she spoke the words, “I will always love you” at which time he took in his last breath.

He is survived by his Wife, Pauline (Estabrook), children and their respective spouses: Paula Giancola, Joseph Giancola & Ron Beauchaine, Donna Giancola & Mark Turbitt, Louis Giancola, Dana & Fatima Giancola and Linda & Tom Curley. He cherished his grandchildren Andrea (Medlin), Randy Giancola, Gina Dawson, Jayme & Heidi Giancola, Julia, Lauren & Jack Curley and great grandchildren Bella Medlin, Gabriel Giancola, and Janelle & John Dawson.

He was the eldest son of the late Ignazio & Odile (Brazeau) Giancola and grew up in Marlboro, MA with his siblings Marie, Alfred, Elaine, and Francis.

He loved and played many sports: Marlboro High School Baseball, Semi-pro Baseball for St. Marie, Marlboro Boys Club Basketball, and competitive softball for Marlboro town leagues. He never missed a Hudson vs. Marlboro Thanksgiving game; a source of rivalry between his children and himself… Not to mention his lifetime devotion to the NY Yankees!

Bernie fell in love and married a Hudson girl, Pauline Estabrook, and moved to Hudson where they lived for 62 years and raised their family. His life evolved around loving, caring, guiding and taking care of family. Family was the most important thing in his life.

In 1949, he joined National Guard, 181st Division, and received many commendations as squad leader during his 21 years of service.

He worked at Gothic Craft in Northboro followed by GM in Framingham, where he retired. He was also a member of the Local 422 UAW.
