Obituary

Leonard Michael “Lenny” Dupuis, 59 of Chicopee, MA and formerly of Holyoke, MA passed from his earthly journey to eternal life on Sunday October 18, 2015. He was born on May 11, 1956 in Holyoke, MA the son of George W. Dupuis, Jr and Elsie M. (Quinley) Dupuis. Lenny graduated from Holyoke Trade High School, Business Education Institute, Hardee’s Food Systems Introduction to Management Training Program, and the Armed Forces Culinary Upgrade Program. He was employed as the scheduling clerk at Westover Job Corps in Chicopee and had a superior understanding and ability when it came to computers. He was later employed as a chef in various restaurants and long term care facilities and always took great pride in preparing meals that were not only great tasting but also had great visual appeal. Lenny achieved a black belt in Shaolin Karate and enjoyed studying the martial arts disciplines. Over the years he accumulated an impressive amount of medical knowledge. Lenny had many interests and activities including camping, fishing and boating at Quabbin Reservoir, going to the beach, deep sea fishing, enjoying local attractions, going out for breakfasts and dinners, and spending time with good friends. Lenny loved animals and they loved him, whenever he went visiting, much time was spent with either a dog or cat on his lap or in his arms and playing with them or walking them. Lenny was predeceased by his mother Elsie and a brother William Dupuis. He is survived by his father, George W. Dupuis, Jr. and his wife Barbara, a brother David Dupuis, sister Sharon Gallup, a niece Jennifer Gallup, his aunt Lorraine, and cousins. He also has many aunts and cousins in Woonsocket, Rhode Island. Lenny is a very special person and he will be missed dearly. Among his closest friends are his former wife Sally Dupuis, her brothers Larry and David Host, her sister Eileen Host, longtime dear friends Kathy Stevens and Diane Karam and Paulette Russo. Lenny had a very deep spiritual side, he knows God in a personal way, and though we mourn his loss with us for now, we can take comfort in knowing we’ll meet again on the other side. Calling hours will be held on Saturday, Oct. 24, 2015 from 9:00 to 10:00 AM at the Grise Funeral Home, 280 Springfield St, Chicopee, MA. followed by a Memorial Service at 10:00 AM in the funeral home. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
