Simone T. (Poirier) Auger, 88, of Goffstown, died October 19, 2015 at Hillsborough County Nursing Home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Amesbury, MA on April 1, 1927 to the late Hormidas and Fabiola (Ducharme) Poirier. She lived in Manchester for most of her life.
Simone attended Manchester schools and worked for many years as a nurse’s aide at Catholic Medical Center and previously in the geriatric department at the former Notre Dame Hospital.
She enjoyed playing bingo, painting pictures, making jewelry and other crafts. She also enjoyed her trips with the Red Hat organization of which she was a member.
She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Henri Auger; a daughter, Claire Lavoie and her companion, Richard Drouin, of Goffstown; three sons, Paul Auger and his wife, Denise, of Manchester, Marc Auger and his wife, Heide, of Henniker and David Auger and his wife, Rachael, of Goffstown; nine grandchildren, Danny, Casey, Cheryl, Amy, Paul, Eric, Emily, Samantha and Michelle; nine great grandchildren whom she adored, Connor, Ashley, Anna, Trevor, Audrey, Natalie, Paul, Alexa and Mallory; two sisters, Lorette Petriw of Manchester and Gertrude Lemay of California; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her brother, Henri Poirier; three sisters, Claire Loiselle, Georgette Huard and Lucille Austin; a son in law, Marcel Lavoie; and a grandson, Jason Lavoie.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Friday, October 23, 2015 at Ste. Marie Church, 378 Notre Dame Ave., Manchester. Committal prayers followed at Mt. Calvary Mausoleum, 474 Goffstown Rd., Manchester.
