Obituary

John “Jack” Norton passed away on October 19 at Southeast Rehab in Easton.
Jack grew up in Dorchester, spent the 70’s in San Francisco and had been a resident of Easton for the past several years.
Jack was a free spirit who didn’t just march to a different drummer; he heard a whole other band. He was an avid fencer who competed in many national and international tournaments. The Boston Fencing Club named an annual event for him: The Jack Norton Hangover Open. Jack brewed his own beer. He built, and flew, balsa wood airplanes powered by rubber bands.
Jack loved to travel. He was particularly fond of Germany, San Francisco and Paris. He made several solo cross-country trips in his homemade camper, the Quagmire. He loved Oktoberfest, Ashumet Pond, cats and his wife, Paula. He never threw anything away.
Jack leaves behind his wife, Paula (Kane) Norton of North Easton; his brothers James Norton of Braintree and his wife Carol, Richard Norton of Plymouth and his wife Kathleen and Robert Norton of Riverside, Rhode Island, eight nieces and nephews and eleven great nieces and nephews. He will be missed.

The procession will gather at the funeral home on Friday at 10am for a funeral mass in the Immaculate Conception Church, N. Easton at 11am. Private burial will be on Monday in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne.
