Obituary

Atty. Frederick J. McLoughlin, Jr., 65, of New Bedford died May 26, 2005 at St. Luke's Hospital after a long courageous battle with cancer.
He was the husband of Bernice (Mello) McLoughlin.
Born in New Bedford, son of the late Frederick J. and Mary E. (Foley) McLoughlin, he lived in New Bedford all of his life.
He was a communicant of Holy Name of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church. As a young man, he was employed as an Able Seaman for the Martha's Vineyard Nantucket Steamship Authority.
Atty. McLoughlin maintained a private law practice in New Bedford for over 30 years. He was a member of the Massachusetts Bar Association, New Bedford Bar Association, and a longtime member of the New Bedford Zoning Board of Appeals. He was a former assistant District Attorney for Bristol County.
He was a graduate of New Bedford High School, Stonehill College and Boston College Law School.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Jeffrey F. McLoughlin of Sagamore; 2 daughters, Deborah Duffy, and her husband John Lucey, of Lakeville and Lana Galanek of Dartmouth; a brother, James M. McLoughlin, and his wife Barbara, of Maryland; 2 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford Tuesday, May 31st at 9 AM. Funeral Mass at Holy Name of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church at 10 AM.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Visiting hours Monday, May 30th from 4-7 PM.
Interment St. John's Cemetery.
