FRANKLIN: Thomas W. Fritts, age 67, a former Natick resident, died peacefully at his Franklin home on Tuesday evening, October 13, 2015. He was the devoted husband of Linda R. (Vaccaro) Fritts for 40 years.
Born in Easton, PA, he was a son of the late Warren H. and Florence M. (Drebert) Fritts. After earning a Bachelor of Science degree from Rutgers University and also serving 4 years in the Air Force, Tom embarked on his career as an environmental engineer and meteorologist with Environmental Analysts in Garden City, Long Island. While there he met and married Linda, and the couple lived in Oyster Bay prior to settling in Natick in 1980. Tom was then employed at Parsons Engineering, until his retirement in 2008.
Tom and Linda very much enjoyed their time with their children and grandchildren, frequenting favored restaurants and trips to Sturbridge Village. Tom also loved the outdoors, yardwork, reading mystery novels and watching football.
He is survived by Linda; a son, Adam J. Fritts and wife Lisa of Franklin; a daughter, Diana L. (Fritts) Bennett and husband Adam of Westborough; adored grandsons, Matthew and Joseph; a sister, Margaret “Peggy” Dapkiewicz of PA; a brother, John Fritts and wife Anne of PA; and from his wife’s family who cherished him, sisters-in-law Laura Beigay and husband Kenneth, Loraine Franchese and husband Dan, and Lisa Vaccaro, all of NY; and many nieces and nephews.
Tom’s funeral services will be private. Donations may be made in his memory to Compassionate Care Hospice, 800 West Cummings Park, Suite 3100, Woburn, MA 01801.
