Patricia A. "Patty" (Patterson) LaPorte, a resident of Quincy and formerly of Charlestown, Easton and Brockton, entered into eternal life on Thursday, October 15, 2015 at Boston Medical Center in Boston following an extended illness. She was 69 years old.
Patty was born in Boston on July 10, 1946, a daughter of the late Joseph P. Patterson and Mary (Rumley) Patterson. She grew up in Charlestown where she was educated at St. Francis De Sales Parochial School and then attended Cardinal Cushing High School in South Boston before graduating from Charlestown High School. Patty was a licensed hairdresser, but her adult life was dedicated to her husband and 2 daughters and most of all she cherished the quality time that she was able to spend with each one of her grandchildren.
Patty is the beloved wife of 48 years to retired Boston Firefighter Donald J. LaPorte. She is the devoted mother of Christine Dowling (Boston Fire Department) and her husband Robert of Walpole and Danielle Companion and her husband Joseph of Ware. She is the loving Nana to Matthew, Alexandra, Jennifer, Nicholas, Alexander, Jack and Emma. She is the beloved sister of Joseph Patterson and his wife Carol, Thomas Patterson and his wife Jill, Anne Pisarri and her husband Joseph, Kathleen Gryzelcyk and her husband John and the late Mary Fleming and Michael Patterson. She is also the loving aunt to many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Patty's Funeral on Monday, October 19, 2015 at 9 A.M. from The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown followed by her Funeral Mass in St. Francis De Sales Church, 313 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown at 10 A.M. Her burial will be at Blue Hills Cemetery in Braintree. Visiting hours will be on Sunday October 18, 2015 from 2 to 6 P.M. in the funeral home.
