Obituary

Ruth (Ingalls) Hall, 93, passed away on Monday, October 12, 2015 at the Lawrence and Memorial Hospital in New London. Born January 6, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Delmer A. and Ada Annie (Hayes) Ingalls of Woonsocket, RI. She was the beloved wife of the late Gordon B. Hall. She was pre-deceased by a sister, Dorothy (Ingalls) Johnson, and a brother Dean H. Ingalls.

She is survived by her four children David J. Hall (Claudia)of North Stonington, CT, Diane H. Nardone (William)of Westerly, RI, Gary I. Hall (Catherine) of Medway, MA, and Jeffrey C. Hall of Mystic, CT.
She leaves behind 7 grandchildren, Heather Pescatello, Nicholas Hall, Ryan Hall, Kaitlyn Hall, Alycia Hall, Madison Nardone and Wm. Chase Nardone, 6 great-grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Ruth was a graduate of Hill College in Woonsocket, RI. She was a member of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Mystic, Fidelity Chapter, Order of Eastern Star in Niantic, the Groton Emblem Club and NCT, National Camping Travelers.

She devoted many hours of her time volunteering to several organizations including the American Red Cross, St. Mark’s Quilters, Special Olympics, CROP Walk, Scouting and the Groton Soup Kitchen.

She enjoyed knitting, reading, traveling and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She will always be remembered for her generous nature and cheerful outlook. She was a wonderful cook and loved to entertain.

A Funeral Eucharist will be celebrated at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, 15 Pearl St., Mystic on Thursday, October 22 at 10 a.m. Interment will be private in St. Paul’s Cemetery, Portsmouth, RI.

The family would like to thank the entire staff of Academy Point in Mystic for their compassionate and loving care of Ruth during these last several months.
