Mrs. Carol A. (Bonenfant) Rec, formerly of Taunton, died Wednesday, October 14 in the Catholic Memorial Home, Fall River, following a lengthy illness. She was the beloved wife of Roger H. Rec. She was born 68 years ago in Taunton, the daughter of Edna M. (Brown) Bonenfant and the late Maurice Bonenfant. She was educated in Taunton, having graduated from Taunton High School, and had resided in Fall River for the past 3 years. Carol was a former resident of Monument Beach. She was employed by a plumbing company in Sandwich for a number of years, and was previously employed as an Assistant Vice President for the former BayBank in Taunton for many years. She enjoyed cooking, traveling with her husband, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was a former communicant of St. John’s Parish in Pocasset.
In addition to her husband, she leaves: 2 sons: Brian E. Rec and his wife, Christina of Post Falls, Idaho, and Kevin H. Rec and his wife, Cheryl of Taunton; 1 daughter: Kerri A. Richards and her husband, Michael of Bourne; 3 brothers: Maurice “Duffy” Bonenfant and his wife, Joyce of Taunton, Gilbert Bonenfant and his wife Stephanie of No. Attleboro, and Michael Bonenfant and his wife, Charlene of Dighton; 1 sister: Julia Gannon and her husband, Joseph of Berkley; 7 grandchildren: Zachary, Austin, Cameron, Marissa and Jonathan Rec, Jordyn and Brendan Richards, and several nieces and nephews. Carol was also the grandmother of the late Nicholas Rec.
Funeral services will be held from The Riendeau-Mulvey Funeral Home, 467 Bay Street, on Monday, October 19 at 9:30 A.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow in St. Jude the Apostle Church at 10:30 A.M. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting Hours will be held on Sunday, from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M.
