Salvatore J. “Sal” Restivo of Taunton, formerly of Brockton and Bridgewater passed away on the morning of Thursday October 15, 2015 at Bedford Village Nursing Home in New Bedford. Mr. Restivo was 59 years old. He fought valiantly for 14 years against cancer. Sal will always be known as a survivor and a spirited fighter by his children; Samantha Miller and her husband Patrick, Sofia Restivo and Salvatore J. Restivo, Jr. Sal was the proud grandfather to his first and only grandson, Julian Salvatore Miller. Mr. Restivo is also survived by his mother Sandra Restivo and a sister; Kathy Restivo.
Sal was born in Brooklyn, New York on February 3, 1959, son of Sandra Restivo (Domenici) and the late Salvatore J. Restivo. He worked for many years, being self- employed in the flooring business. His family best describes him as a man who enjoyed living life on its edge and always being his own boss. He had a soft spot however, and that spot was occupied by his love for his family.
Mr. Restivo had many enjoyments and talents. He loved riding motorcycles and playing video games, which he had a knack for being extremely good at. Sal was a man with many quirks, such as eating cold lasagna with mayonnaise. His spirit and rough but decent nature was respected by his family and that nature will be forever missed.
Cremation will take place at Woodlawn-North Purchase Crematory in Attleboro. Following cremation, Sal will be brought home to New York by his family.
