Kathleen R. Andrews, age 57, of Bridgewater, formerly of Brockton, died unexpectedly, on Sunday October 11, 2015 at Signature Healthcare-Brockton Hospital following a period of failing health. Born and raised in Brockton, Kathy was the daughter of the late Augustus and Geraldine M. (Gammons) Andrews. She attended St. Patrick School, West Junior High School and was a graduate of Southeastern Vocational Technical High School. While a student at Southeastern, she organized the first girls basketball team and also played on the girls softball team. Kathy had been employed by Chadwick’s in Brockton, The Enterprise, and Wal-Mart. For the past 18 months she was a bus monitor for Bill’s Taxi, serving the needs of handicapped children. Fiercely loyal to her nieces and nephews; she also loved little children, writing poetry, and making chocolate confections.
Kathy was the sister of Jeanne Downey of Plymouth, Richard and Kathleen Andrews of West Bridgewater, John Andrews and Pat Desmond of West Bridgewater, David and Barbara Andrews of Quincy, Mary Ann Andrews of Wrentham, Christine Belcher of Bridgewater, Diana Wise of West Bridgewater, Paul and Joanne Andrews of Lakeville, Carol Clifford of West Bridgewater, Donald and Heidi Andrews of New Albany, OH and the late Geraldine P. Andrews. She also leaves many nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews.
Visiting Hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton, Thursday, 4-7pm. The funeral procession will gather at the funeral home Friday at 9:15am for a funeral Mass in St. Ann’s Church, West Bridgewater at 10:30am. Burial in Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you do a good deed for someone in need in Kathy’s memory.
