Elio DiCenso of Medford died on Saturday, October 10, at the Courtyard Nursing Care Center of Medford. Born and raised in Sulmona, Italy, he was the son of the late Gaetano and Maria (Federico) DiCenso. After moving to the U.S. as a young man he lived in Arlington, with the last 32 years as a resident of Medford.
Elio was the beloved husband of Assunta "Susan" (Fasano) DiCenso and the devoted father of Annarita Meeker and her husband Todd of Melrose, Maria DiCenso of Revere, Elio DiCenso Jr. of Charlestown and Elena DiCenso of Somerville. He is also survived by his loving grandchildren Mikayla and Mateo Meeker.
Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford on Thursday, October 15 at 9 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 118 High St., Medford, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Wednesday, October 14 from 4 through 8 PM. Services will conclude with entombment at Holy Cross Mausoleum, Malden.
