Obituary

Joseph M. Grilli, 91, of Manchester, died October 10, 2015 at Elliot Hospital after a brief illness.
He was born in Everett, MA on July 27, 1924 to Joseph G. and Mary (Libretti) Grilli. He lived in Massachusetts in Everett, Medford and Malden for many years before moving to Manchester in the 1990’s.
During World War II he served in the U.S. Navy as a photographer.
After the war he continued as a photographer in the Boston area and later worked in his family’s business, Grilli’s Religious Articles in Boston. He also worked as a computer analyst at First National Bank of Boston for many years.
Joseph was an avid rose grower and was active with the NH Rose Society. He had also volunteered at Mystic Valley Elder Services in Malden, MA.
He enjoyed spending time with his family and will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and uncle.
The family includes his wife of 63 years, Jennie L. (Addesa) Grilli of Manchester; three children, Claudia Grilli of Hooksett, David Grilli and his wife, Tracy, of Londonderry and Andrea Chatfield and her husband, Scott, of Bedford; three grandchildren, Victoria Grilli, Luke Grilli and Brendan Chatfield; and cousins, nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Thursday, October 15, 2015 at St. Catherine Church, corner of Webster and Hemlock streets, Manchester. A committal service took place on Friday, October 16, 2015 at Holy Cross Cemetery in Malden, MA.
