Henry “Hank” Roland Dufresne passed away on Oct. 8, 2015, with his loving family at his bedside.
He was the son of Arthur “Duffy” and Mable Dufresne. He was born in Providence, RI, but grew up and spent his life as a resident of Manchester.
A Vietnam era veteran of the U.S. Navy, Hank served honorably aboard the USS Saratoga. He became a police patrolman in Goffstown upon his return.
Hank contributed greatly to the New Hampshire EMS community, where throughout his career, he mentored many and saved countless lives. After working at and eventually managing Duffy’s Ambulance Service, he founded both Derek’s Ambulance Service and Manchester Wheelchair Transport. He was later the Vice President of Corporate Development at Chaulk Ambulance and a Customer Representative for CarePlus Ambulance.
He served the City of Manchester as the Moderator for Ward 10 for nearly a decade, was the chairman of the Mayor’s DWI Task Force, and co-chairman of the EMS regional meetings. Later in life, Hank worked as a security guard at both Catholic Medical Center and Saint Anselm College.
He loved to fish, cook, and spend time with his loving family and friends. He touched countless hearts and will be greatly missed by many.
Hank leaves behind his former wife and best friend Barbara Dufresne; step-daughter, Pamela Tremblay Dubois; step-son Kyle Tremblay; son, Michael Dufresne; daughter and son-in-law, Holly and John Rodrigues and son, Derek Dufresne, all of Manchester. He is also survived by his sister, Bernice Wakeman of Pinardville; seven grandchildren, one great grandchild, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, October 14, 2015 at Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm St., Manchester. Committal prayers followed at Mt.
