TAUNTON – Kathleen A. Vieira, 62, was called peacefully to heaven on Oct. 6, 2015.
Sister of Herman Vieira and his wife Gail of Taunton, Edward Vieira and his wife Diane of Clearwater, FL and Carol Vieira of Taunton, Kathleen was the daughter of the late Herman and Sophie (Carvalho) Vieira.
Kathleen was an ASCP Certified Phlebotomist employed by Morton Hospital for over 40 years.
Born and raised in Taunton, Kathy was a well-known and respected team member of the Morton Hospital family of professionals.
She was also an EMT, often working details at Gillette Stadium for the Patriots.
A devoted member of Special Olympics, Kathy played on mixed teams and also coached many of the teams.
She was an ace softball player for over 30 years and again, well-known and respected for her athletic abilities, along with her ability to befriend anyone who crossed her path.
Kathy is also survived by many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews and close friends.
Funeral Services will be held at the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton on Monday, Oct. 19th at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery. Calling Hours will be held at the funeral home on Sunday, Oct. 18th from 4 to 8 p.m.
