Myrtice Walker, 74, of Tifton went home to be with the Lord October 8, 2015. A graveside funeral service will be held for Miss Walker at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, October 11, 2015, at Oak Ridge Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest. Rev. Brantley Seymour will officiate. The family will receive friends Saturday, October 10, 2015, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. The family will be gathering at the Scarborough residence at 4 Horseshoe Circle in Tifton.
Paul Swaim, Josh Miley, Danny Ross Jr., Kyle Scarborough, Brian Walker, Jerry Walker and Kyle Gray will serve as pallbearers.
Miss Walker was born May 6, 1941 in Tifton, the daughter of Brown and Kathleen Outlaw Walker, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Emory Eugene “Gene” Walker; and a brother-in-law, Danny Scarborough. She was a member of New Bethel Baptist Church in Tifton and a loving sister to her identical twin sister, Myrtle. She was a faithful and dedicated Avondale Mills employee until her medical retirement. Her favorite pastime was spending time with and loving her nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and great-great nieces and great-great nephews.
Miss Walker is survived by her identical twin sister, Myrtle O’Quinn and sister, Jo-Ann Scarborough; her brothers and their wives, Herman and Mildred Walker and John and Syble Walker; a sister-in-law, Carol Walker; her nieces and their husbands, Kim and Danny Ross Jr., Karen Lumpkin, Dana and Josh Miley, Jill and Paul Swaim, Melissa and Kyle Gray, Mary Frances Hogan and Brenda Renee Walker; her nephews and their wives, Brian and Amber Walker, Kyle and Beverly Scarborough, Jerry and Jessica Walker and Eddie Walker; her great-nieces, Kaylee Lumpkin, Caroline Swaim, Claire Walker, Olivia Hudson, Amber and Adam Estes, Brittany Schofill and Mandy Hogan; her great-nephews, Connor Lumpkin, Camden Lumpkin, Will Walker, Walker Swaim, Coleman Swaim, Gavin Gray, Jackson Gray and Nicholas Hogan; her great-great niece, Riley Schofill; and her great-great nephews, Dalton Courtoy and Dylan Estes.
