GRAY- Victor Downs Jr., 71 of Gray, passed away peacefully on October 5th, following a short illness.
Mr. Downs was born in Portland, Maine, August 19, 1944 and attended Cheverus High School, Class of '62.
Victor began his adult life managing the A-1 Steak Pit in Scarboro, then served as an associate with the Rainbow Fruit Company in Portland. After a short stint in the real estate business, Victor found his true calling as an antique dealer, first in Portland, then in Gray, where he lived for the past three decades.
Mr. Downs is survived by his sons, Victor III, Joseph and Andrew, his daughter, Kathleen, as well as 4 grandchildren. He is predeceased by his parents, Victor Sr. and Nancy Downs.
A springtime memorial service is planned.
